Font submissions were pretty slow through October, but I managed to get these three online between slaving over some custom font jobs and driving to New York for my father's surprise 60th birthday party. "Aquabus" was in my processing queue for a while waiting for some kerning from its creator, the infamously elusive Jim Marcus. I finally broke down and paid it some attention in order to get it online. It's got a rollerdisco meets art deco appeal that I can't wait to see in play. Gustavo Piqueira's "Cabourg" was a work in progress for a few months. After Gustavo added some extra weights, I gave it some TLC and obliques. This one works well in text settings without sacrificing a stoic, futuristic feel. Gareth Hague delivered his latest Alias™ family just in time for this Font Showcase. "Cactus" is a top-quality set of fonts, and a classically clean sans design. Letter-spacing is consistent across the four weight increments, which may work to an advantage in print, but the Black may beg for a bit of tracking in most scenarios.
